Odd Futurism by Bethlehem Shoals

If anyone likes Odd Future, the wild teenage shock rap group from L.A., then this is an article you should look into. It is amazing how big the group is getting, especially Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy Beats. I highly recommend this article. It shows that Tyler and the gang are not just a bunch of riled up pill popping hoodlums, but artist and poets who are making a name for themselves as the newest hip-hop spectacle.

[Earl]
Uhh, addicts arise, when I arrive
In this cracked crack fag back slap in disguise
Fat sack of knives in the passenger side, bitch
Reach for the door, get your access denied

[Tyler]
I’m not an asshole I just don’t give a fuck a lot
The only time I do is when a bitch is screamin’ “Tyler, stop!”
The big bad wolf to me you’re just a minor fox
Red ridin’ is gettin’ some of this wolfly otter cock

from the song ASSMILK by Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt

Theophilus London

Theophilus London is making a name for himself. His favorite band is the Smiths. The Brooklyn native is blowing up. Look at the Prince inspired album cover. Recently he performed on Letterman to hype his new EP LOVERS HOLIDAY. its nuts.

A Vortex of Misfortune and Sabotage

2/2/11- A Vortex of Misfortune and Sabaotage.
The second semester of school started yesterday, 2/1/11, and what a better way then to treat myself with a concert. This treat would soon turn into a nightmarish scene from a shitty horror movie made in 1978. Actually, I like some of those movies.

SIDE NOTE: Carmen "CP DangerFist" Petaccio has sabotaged my blog and created a five year old interpretation of something boisterous and lively. Black and White=classy, simple, and languid. Gray tile background= who let my blind son Charles Wilson out of his cage and onto the computer. No hard feelings.

My friend, Tabor Fitzgerald Dwyer, and I set out on a musically infused adventure to the Drunken Unicorn in downtown Atlanta. We missed out exit and drove three hours our of the way ending up in Tennesse. We both cried tremendously as we shoved three gas station hot dogs into out mouths and washed them down with Double Gulp Cherry Slushies. With tears in our eyes and Hurrican Katrina whirling outside the car ride back was depressing. Not only were we upset at the eighteen wheeler that obstructed our view making us miss our exit, but also because we would be missing a great show. The car smelt of defeat and farts and the only thing that kept us going was Cut Copy. Someday Smith Westerns someday...

David Lynch Interview Project

www.interviewproject.davidlynch.com
This Interview Series exposes the real and innocent side of America. Some are old and homeless and others are young and successful, but the trueness and honesty from those being interviewed creates a beautiful portrait of the U.S.A. Thank You Rachel Carlisle Jones for showing me this.

Coachella

Well the festival season seems to start off with Coachella April 15-17. Headliners such as Kings of Leon, Kanye West and Arcade Fire should bring some fun festive tunes. The Strokes will be headlining Sunday, and with their new album Angles in the works their setlist will mostly likely have some new songs to go along with some oldies. If you plan on going, I will tell you who to see besides the headliners, at least for Friday. Friday: Tame Impala, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Omar Rodriguez Lopez of The Mars Volta, Kele, Klaxons, The Drums, Titus Andronicus. Saturday: Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, Empire of the Sun, Broken Social Scene, CULTS, The Tallest Man on Earth, FOALS, The Radio Dept. and New Pornographers. Sunday: Kanye West, The Strokes, Duran Duran, The National, Best Coast, Chromeo, Nas & Damien Marley, OFF!
Enjoy!

New Smith Westerns Album, Dye It Blonde, trades lo-fi garage sound for studio quality. "Weekend" "All Dye Young" and "Still New" are three songs that create a new face in town for the Smith Westerns.
